S17x6.6BRM-SD Professional Lens
With the widest angle of view in its class and with a 17x zoom, our new lenses are ideally suited to a vast range of applications in practical everyday shooting. The Fujinon S17x hand-held lenses are excellent value, too, offering high-quality optics with inner focusing, a very short minimum object distance of just 0.9 m, and macro capability within this distance.
The lenses feature Fujinon’s patented Electron Beam Coating, improving contrast substantially whilst reducing flare and ghosting to new lower levels. Chromatic aberration has also been reduced to values normally found only with broadcast lenses.
A high MTF across the field has been achieved, with increased resolution at the edges and corners. This produces clear sharp images, and this high optical performance is maintained throughout the zoom range from wide to telephoto. With inner focusing, the rectangular lens hood eliminates ghosting and flare effectively, and front lens-mounted filters remain stationary when focusing. The new S17x6.6 lens has been designed especially with the professional user in mind. User-friendly, lightweight, ruggedly built and with a comfortable grip. Particular attention has been paid to the “feel” of focus in operation — smooth but not too light. A large focus ring provides free but precise focus operation, perfect for those artistic shots. The maximum zoom speed from wide to tele end is only 1.8 seconds.
