Tapes
There are many different manufacturers of tape and the country of origin may vary within the same manufacturer. This may give rise to quality issues such as tape tension. It is advised to take note of the instruction leaflets supplied with your camcorder, VTR and other tape reading/writing equipment for the manufacturer's recommendation on which tapes to use.
Always rewind tapes before storing and keep upright in the protective case.
Cassettes should be kept away from:
- excessively dusty conditions
- high temperatures
- high humidity
- direct sunlight
- strong magnetic fields
Archive tapes should be stored in a room temperature between 15-25 degrees centigrade.
