A camera jib is an extension that is useful for getting high angles or shots that need to move a long distances horizontally or vertically. The camera sits on one end with a counter weight and camera controls on the other. The balance point is positioned close to the counterweight, allowing the camera end to move through an extended arc.

Remote Camera Operations

A jib is often mounted on tripod legs, which can also be put onto a dolly system. As the camera operator cannot physically touch the camera, the camera is often used in conjunction with a remote control for zoom or focus.
