In the 80’s Industrial and Professional Video Production was a costly affair. Due to the loss of image quality that Analogue Video signals suffered from in both the Linear VTR editing and format duplication process stages , huge investments were made in ensuring that the original image quality was maintained to the highest standard possible. Typically a Professional on-line editing suite would comprise of three or more vtrs, a vision mixer, timebase correctors, four or more monitors, editing controller, Waveform vectorscope, audio mixer and caption generator.
