Now there is a huge range of tripod heads to choose from, but there are few flat based tripod heads out there, and even less flat based tripod heads that offer counterbalance. The Manfrotto Nitrotech N8 and N12 are different, both are identical, flat based tripod heads, with continuous counterbalance. The N8 supports up to 8kg and the N12 between 4 and 12kg. The only difference between these heads is that the N12 is 50g heavier than the N8.
Most of you will be familiar with traditional tungsten fresnel lights, they've been around forever, but there are some drawbacks.
