It’s all well and good setting yourself up with a top of the range camera and all the sound and editing equipment, but if you don’t have any media you will be very limited with what you can do. You need to ensure you have a larger than expected amount of memory equipment to hand because you never know when you might run out and need to replace your card, or the shoot runs over!

The last thing you want on a location shoot is to run out of media and find that you cannot save your footage. Therefore, a large amount of memory is essential. Of course, you’ll also want to make sure you have memory in different formats, just in case you’re using various equipment. Not all cameras take the same memory cards, so you’ll need a variation.

SDXC, SXS, Compact Flash, CFast, XQD and card readers are all valuable investments that will make your job a lot easier. The readers will help you to offload the footage from the memory card and onto your computer ready for editing, so make sure you get one that meets all your needs. For further information, please give us a call on 01442 292929 and we’ll be happy to run through anything with you.
