SSD & HDD

As you start to gather up footage, you’ll want to transfer it onto a more permanent device, ensuring it’s safe and secure. This is where the SSDs and HDDs come in, and you have a choice to make as to which one is more suitable for you.

HDDs are your traditional hard disk drives - they are lower cost and have internal moving parts. The SSDs are essentially, more reliable drives, more costly but solid state, so have no moving parts. This media will allow you to store more than the traditional USB flash drives, which is ideal if you have a lot of professional camera work on them.

The SSD will load your information dramatically faster than the standard HDD, but you will pay for the premium. If you don’t mind waiting then the HDD is likely to be a better option, but if you are conscious of the lower speeds, then the SSD is going to be the most logical choice. If you’re unsure about which one will work for you, don’t hesitate to get in touch. Call us on 01442 292929 and our experienced, knowledgeable team will be able to answer any questions you have.
