Canon CN20x50 IAS H E1/P1 Lens

Unprecedented quality, versatility and usability

Combining decades of experience in the design of market-leading broadcast lenses with technology derived from high-performance cine zooms, the CN20x 50 IAS H E1/P1 responds to the growing popularity of large sensor video cameras in broadcast production. With an outstanding focal length of 50-1000mm, expandable to 75-1500mm via a built-in 1.5x extender, the lens is tailor-made for camera operators in both traditional broadcast and movie environments.

The CN20x 50 IAS H E1/P1 is a superb lens that’s designed for broadcast use with Super35mm cameras – whether HD, UHD or 4K. It has unprecedented quality, versatility and usability and features a completely removable updated servo drive unit that enables its use in broadcast-style shooting environments where typical cine lenses are usually impractical. This lens offers a unique combination of broadcast operability and incredible accuracy, thus meeting the growing user-demand for Ultra High Definition (UHD) resolution sports and nature television production.

It is highly flexible to meet the huge, and highly unpredictable, demands of sports productions that typically require extremely high resolution for close-to-the-action stadium work whilst, for nature TV productions, operators work in hostile and sensitive conditions that often necessitate shooting from extremely long distances. In both environments, operators require fast, reactive positional changes, shooting flexibility and nimble hardware that allow them to respond to changes in the scene.

The CN20x 50 IAS H E1/P1 is perfectly suited to tripod-mounted use during studio or outside broadcasts, too. Zoom, focus and iris can all be controlled using Canon’s existing zoom and focus demands, providing precise and convenient control over vital image parameters without the operator touching the lens. Virtual studio use is also supported thanks to a sophisticated 16-bit encoder output.

Canon European Warranty System Information

In the event that a Canon product develops a fault, our customers are covered by the Canon European Warranty System (EWS) which ensures that the fault is resolved free of charge for a limited period of time after purchase (terms and conditions apply).

Terms and Conditions
The EWS is comprised of two different service offerings and the offering that is applicable to you is determined by your location and the product you have purchased. For most Canon consumer products, a Return To Base service is offered. If a product develops a manufacturing fault during the warranty period then it must be returned to a Canon approved repair facility where it will be repaired free of charge by Canon authorised technicians. Your product will be returned to you when the repair is complete.

Q: Do I have to physically register my product with Canon for the European Warranty System (EWS) to apply or be activated?
A: In general, there is no legal requirement for customers to register a product with Canon for EWS warranty purposes. Registering a product with Canon via Canon iD will allow us to send you targeted promotional materials and updates regarding your products. Some occasional promotional warranties may require registration with Canon, but the specific Terms & Conditions of the promotion will specify this if applicable.

Q: What information regarding warranty should I find in the box when I purchase a Canon product?
A: For European Warranty System (EWS) applicable countries, each product box will generally contain a EWS Warranty Card in the box.

Q: Is it necessary for me to complete and return any documentation to Canon in order to register my European Warranty System (EWS) warranty?
A: It is not necessary for you to return any documentation to Canon in order to register for the European Warranty System (EWS). If you wish to specifically request a warranty repair under the European Warranty System (EWS) then it will always be necessary for you to provide Canon with the original valid proof of purchase (including original date of purchase) for the product in question and, in some cases, a completed warranty card may also be required. Please refer to the specific country in question for specific requirements.

Q: What documentation is required in order to make claim a European Warranty System (EWS) warranty repair?
A: If you wish to specifically request a warranty repair under the European Warranty System then it will always be necessary for you to provide Canon with the original valid proof of purchase (including original date of purchase) for the product in question and, in some cases, a completed warranty card may also be required. Please refer to the specific country in question for specific requirements. Q: How do I register a European Warranty System warranty for a Canon product that I have received as a gift?
A: In general, there is no legal requirement for customers to register a product with Canon for EWS warranty purposes. If you wish to specifically request a warranty repair under the European Warranty System then it will always be necessary for you to provide Canon with the original valid proof of purchase (including original date of purchase) for the product in question and, in some cases, a completed warranty card may also be required. This proof of purchase requirement (including original date of purchase) is also applicable to products received as a gift.

Q: How long is a typical Canon European Warranty System (EWS) valid for?
A: In general, Canon products are offered with a 24 month European Warranty System warranty. Exceptions can and do apply and it is often the case that retailers offer their own warranty extension promotions. If in doubt, please refer to the warranty section of the applicable Canon country support website or to your retailer (in the case of retailer warranty extensions).

Q: If I buy a Canon product outside of the countries for which Canon offers the European Warranty System (EWS), will my product still be covered by the European Warranty System (EWS) if I am resident in a EWS member country?
A: Details regarding the specific warranty offered per product will generally be contained in the product box. In general, products will be covered by a warranty that applies to their specific sales region and it will be necessary for customers to return any products to the applicable region in order to claim a warranty repair. Canon does not generally offer a global warranty unless specifically mentioned for specific products / regions.

Q: If I have bought a Canon product and I later decide to give this / sell this to someone else within the specified European Warranty System (EWS) warranty period, does this EWS warranty transfer with the product?
A: Yes, Canon products are covered by the European Warranty System (EWS) regardless of whom the actual product owner is. However the start and end date of the warranty will apply to the original purchase date and not the date of subsequent sale. If you wish to specifically request a warranty repair under the European Warranty System (EWS) then it will always be necessary for you to provide Canon with the original valid proof of purchase (including original date of purchase) for the product in question and, in some cases, a completed warranty card may also be required. Please require to the specific country in question for specific requirements.

Q: If I have bought a Canon product covered under the European Warranty System (EWS) and I travel to another country that is not covered by the EWS and the product requires repair, will I be offered a warranty repair?
A: Technically, Canon warranties are only applicable within the region in which the product has been sold and for which specific warranty details were included in the box. Canon does not generally offer a global warranty unless specifically mentioned for specific products / regions. We would always advise Canon customers to contact local Canon representatives to see what assistance is possible. In some cases it may be necessary for you to pay for any applicable repairs and to then attempt to reclaim this from Canon (this only applies if the fault repaired is covered by the terms of EWS – for example customer misuse is excluded) when you return to the European Warranty System (EWS) region. To support your claim we would always advise you to retain any applicable documentation relating to charges incurred / repairs handled.
