Hi,
 
Well the main differences are below…
 
ECM-MS2: Cardioid, Shotgun, stereo fixed cable 2 x 3-Pin XLR – fit into FS5 – the cable is not detachable.
ECM-VG1: Hyper Cardioid, Shotgun, mono with 3-Pin XLR – will fit into FS5 with 3-Pin XLR-Cable (not included).
 
Sound difference to be honest is tricky to describe… Both are good. But please remember that the MS2 is stereo.
