Cirro Lite - Lighting Workshop, Thursday 26th July

Lighting – the State of Play

What You Should Know Now That You Didn’t Five Years Ago

We are delighted to announce a workshop in conjunction with Cirro Lite that will take place on Thursday, July 26th at our Hemel Hempstead branch. This workshop will cover the basics of the colour science and explain how it relates to the latest lighting technology both practically and theoretically.

Please note: Spaces are limited for this workshop and we expect it to be booked up quickly. We recommend early booking to avoid disappointment.

Cirro Lite Event Cirro Lite - Lighting Workshop

With the solid-state lighting dominating the market it’s important to understand the limitations and possibilities of the colour they produce. The future of professional image creation will require the modern Cinematographers and technicians to understand colour in a new way – this in turn will open up a whole new set of creative possibilities both dramatic and subtle. The lecture will use the very latest Kino Flo LED capable of producing camera specific clean whites and over 2 million colours, the seminar will however relate to all solid state (LED) lighting.

I attended an HDR Masterclass with Alister Chapman. I have known Alister for many years, and I have attended a good few training sessions with Alister as a presenter. He always made the problematic subjects look simple and, so I was looking forward to his talk. I was not disappointed. HDR is a buzz-word in the TV industry and understanding all aspects of High Dynamic Range would improve the skills of cinematographers who wish to capture a higher level of luminance and visibly deeper blacks than a current video monitor is capable of showing. I guess the resulting image would be a better depiction of what the human eye is capable of analyzing. I must ask Alister about it next time. Please arrange another session with him.
