The durable, dust and splash-proof AXS-R7 Portable Memory Recorder attaches seamlessly to the high end F55 and F5 CineAlta cameras, speeding up the 4K production workflow without compromising quality. The AXS-R7 doubles 4K RAW recording from 60 fps up to 120 fps for the F55 camera compared to previous Sony recorders. For shooting at higher frame rates, the recorder captures 2K RAW at up to 240 fps for the F55 and F5, for playback with 10x super slow motion.

Working with high-speed AXSM™ A Series memory cards, the recorder features dual memory card slots for extra security and to extend recording times. The recorder also offers 4K RAW cache recordings up to 30 seconds while in standby mode. The tough, all-metal casing makes the AXS-R7 the ideal companion to the F55 and F5 for all kinds of high-end drama, documentary and wildlife productions.

High speed 4K RAW capture
Compared to previous Sony 4K recorders, the AXS-R7 Portable Memory Recorder doubles 4K RAW recording from 60 fps up to 120 fps from the F55 camera*. For shooting at higher frame rates, the recorder captures 2K RAW at up to 240 fps from the F55 and F5, for playback with 10x super slow motion.**

30-second RAW cache recording
With the recorder, 4K shooters can take advantage of RAW cache recording at 23.98p for up to approximately 30 seconds (*) while in standby mode, an important feature in documentary or wildlife production where capturing spontaneous action is required.

Durable dust and splash-proof metal design
The AXS-R7 Portable Memory Recorder has a strong, durable metal body built to work in testing conditions in the field. With a thicker metal body than predecessor 4K recorders, the AXS-R7 is dust and splash-proof, with electric parts and the ventilation shaft separated by a metal filter to prevent the entry of dust and water. The recorder’s camera connections are more secure, with a large top bracket that accepts four widely spaced screws.

Dual memory card slots support high-speed AXSM memory cards
The AXS-R7 Portable Memory Recorder features dual memory card slots and work with sleek, high-capacity, high-speed AXSM A Series memory cards, which are designed to support the write speeds required for 4K RAW 120 fps recordings. By using Sony’s free RAW Viewer application the recorded files can easily played back and checked on a PC or MAC. AXSM memory provides a super fast, affordable format for sensational quality recordings.

High-speed 4K RAW recording with AXS-R7 Portable Memory Recorder 

The AXS-A512S48 AXS Memory (AXSM™) A Series card is an ultra high speed, high capacity, and high reliability flash memory media, for demanding 4K and 2K 16-bit linear RAW format, including High Frame Rate (HFR) recording up to 120fps in 4K resolution* and 240fps in 2K resolution. The AXS-A512S48 has a capacity of 512 GB and guaranteed write speed of 4.8 Gbps. The card works with the AXS-R7 Portable Memory Recorder and AXS-R5 2K / 4K RAW recorder - and AXS-CR1 USB 3.0 AXS Memory card reader, using the AXS Memory card adapter.

* HFR up to 120 fps in 4K resolution is only supported by AXS-R7 Portable Memory Recorder with PMW-F55.

The AXS-A512S48 works with the AXS-R7 4K Portable Memory Recorder and AXS-R5 2K / 4K RAW recorder and AXS-CR1 USB 3.0 AXS Memory card reader, using the AXS Memory card adapter.

Records 4K RAW and 2K RAW
High capacity recordings of, for example, 60 min 4K RAW and 235 min 2K RAW at 23.98PsF, 23 min 4K RAW and 94 min 2K RAW at 60p, and 24 min 2K RAW at 240fps (frames per second), and 11 min 4K RAW at 120fps.

High capacity, fast transfer speed recordings
The AXS-A512S48 has a capacity of 512 GB and guaranteed write speed of 4.8 Gbps.

Slim and small card design
The AXS-A512S48 has dimensions of 35 x 75 x 8 mm. This is smaller and lighter than previous AXS Memory cards and has same height and width dimensions as SxS Memory cards.

Less power usage
The AXS Memory A Series uses less power and provides more effective ventilation compared to previous AXS Memory cards.

Works with AXS-R7, AXS-R5 and AXS-CR1
The AXS-A512S48 works with the AXS-R7 Portable Memory Recorder and AXS-R5 2K / 4K RAW recorder - and AXS-CR1 USB 3.0 AXS Memory card reader, using the AXS Memory card adapter*.

2K RAW HFR recordings
The AXS Memory A Series records High Frame Rate (HFR) recordings: 48 min 2K RAW at 120fps (frames per second), 31 min at 180fps and 24 min at 240fps and 22 min 4K RAW at 120 fps.*
