Just before NAB Canon announced that the C700 was going to get a sensor upgrade in the form of the C700 FF, moving Canon into the world of full frame cinema cameras, to compete with the likes of the Sony Venice, Alexa LF and Kinefinity Mavo LF. The camera is capable of outputting 5.9K RAW or it is capable of downsampling to 4K/ UHD at up to 60p. The C700 FF shares the same body with the original C700 and if you're an owner of the original C700 you can have your sensor swapped out for the new Full Frame sensor by Canon.
Canon is calling the C700 FF a multi-format camera with the ability to shoot in a range of sensor modes with different crops on the sensor. Full frame using the full sensor, a super 35 mode giving a 4K crop at up to 72fps and a super 16 mode on a 2K crop at up to 168fps.
