DSMC2 IS RED's new lineup.
RED's new lineup might look very similar to their older camera models, and some people think of the lineup as being confusing, but this really isn't the case.
So let's break this down DSMC2 is the camera body (which stands for Digital Stills & Motion Camera MK2) and this camera body is unified across the whole lineup. All modules and accessories will work across the lineup, (we'll be going into more detail on the different modules available in the near future). There are then four different sensor options available. The flagship 8K Full Frame, Vista Vision Monstro sensor. Then there are three Super 35mm options, the 8K Helium, the 5K Gemini, and the 5K Dragon-X.
Once you choose which sensor option you wish to go with, all you need to do is pick a lens mount, how you wish to power the camera and a monitor, and you're good to go. The unified system that is offered by DSMC2 really is simple. Now of course from all the sensors you can expect superb image quality and ease of use. RED has not only overhauled the camera body, but they have a whole new image processing system, which RED refers to as IPP2 (Image Processing Pipeline). This overhaul gives users even greater image quality and flexibility than before.
Of course, if you have any questions about the RED system, please do get in touch with our sales team.
