Kine EVF | Kinefinity In Depth

Back at NAB this year, Kinefiny announced the Kine EVF alongside the new 7" high bright Kinemom. This announcement has been rumoured since the MAVO and MAVO LF were announced as the eagle-eyed out there noticed two of Kinefinity's proprietary video ports sitting on the front. Not to mention the addition of a second port to TERRA 4K's manufactured from January 2019 and using two of Kinefinitys older but now discontinued 5" Kinemon isn't quite what people would expect.Kine EVF

The Kine EVF is small and lightweight, weighing in under 300g and currently can only be used with Kinefinitys current lineup of cameras. The TERRA 4K, MAVO and MAVO LF. It connects through Kinefinitys video port, which means you only need one cable for power and video signals, making the EVF a really streamlined solution for using a viewfinder on Kinefinity cameras. And best of all, it can, of course, be used the same if the camera is rigged up, or stripped down to the body and side-handle being ran off of a GripBat.Kine EVF

The Screen inside the Kine EVF is a 1080p OLED panel, perfect for monitoring your image and it looks great. The screen inside fills a good amount of your vision which is fantastic. The diopter is firm, easy to adjust and doesn't move when you apply pressure to the eyepiece which is great to see. There is a motion sensor on the EVF for turning the EVF on and off, which is crucial for the OLED screen inside to have a long lifespan.Kine EVF

On the EVF itself, there are two buttons, button '1' toggles peaking on and off. Holding the button allows you to adjust the strength of the peaking. Button '2' activates a histogram, which appears in the bottom left-hand corner. On the back of the EVF, there is the power button along with a scroll wheel which allows for the brightness to be controlled.Kine EVF

The Kine EVF is available on its own, or in a bundle with a Movcam EVF mount, which works well with the Movcam cage that comes bundled with the Pro Packages. This mount attaches through the 15mm rod hole on the top handle, which lots of other top handles have if you'd like to use something other than the Movcam handle.Kine EVF
