Welcome to the third instalment of our 'Kinefinity In Depth' series. The MAVO is today's centre of attention and sits smack bang in the middle of Kinefinity's lineup.

The MAVO holds a familiar Super 35mm sensor inside which is capable of shooting 6K resolution at 6016x4016 Open Gate (which allows for some very high-resolution anamorphic footage), or 6016x3172 6K DCI. Just like the other cameras in Kinefinity's line-up, the camera has some fantastic slow motion options. In 6K, the camera can record up to 50fps, in 5K wide up to 74fps, in 4K wide up to 100fps and in 2K wide up to 192fps. Again, just like you would expect from Kinefinity's other cameras you can record all these frame rates in either ProRes or RAW internally.
Unlike the TERRA however, the MAVO can record ProRes up to ProRes 4444XQ which is just fantastic.
If you don't want to deal with the larger file sizes that will come with 6K footage, but want to get the most out of the camera, it has some good downsampling options available in camera, allowing for better image quality, but lower file sizes.
