With its full-frame sensor, semi-modular design and 5.9K internal RAW recording, the C500 MKII is looking like a fantastic option for narrative work.
As you would expect, all around the camera is solidly built and can survive the rigours of production, and can be easily rigged up to allow for Vlock batteries to be used and to power a whole range of accessories such as follow focus systems, wireless video transmitters, and additional monitors.
Not only is it easy to build up, but its also very easy to strip down for situations where you need the camera as small as possible. Rigged on a Steadicam or gimbal, or even on a car mount.
Canon's manual autofocus guides are also a fantastic tool for focus pullers to use on set. Utilising the same technology that allows Canon to deliver stellar autofocus performance, the manual focus guides allow for extra peace of mind. If an actor misses their mark, the guide show how far and which way the subject is out of focus, allowing for accurate corrections on the fly, making the full-frame sensor easier to work with.
