Today, Rode have released the Wireless Go. A new, ultra-portable, wireless audio system. Perfect for those looking for an affordable quick and simple audio solution.
Both the transmitter and receiver are around 4.5cm squares, and only 18.5mm thick. So these will be tiny units, easy to mount on your camera and hide on your subject. Plus they only weigh 31 grams each which is incredibly lightweight.
The transmitter has a 3.5mm input for connecting a traditional lavaliere microphone. But interestingly, Rode have also added built-in omnidirectional condenser microphone directly on the transmitter unit. This means you can simply clip the transmitter onto your subject, or place it near the sound you want to record, and you can record high-quality audio with no wires.
They have a built-in battery which lasts for 7 hours and can be charged via a USB port on each unit.
